Convert a tempo into delay, pre-delay, and note lengths, or convert a millisecond value back to BPM. These numbers sync an effect to the beat. They are not speaker-distance delay, and they are not a measured room reverb time.

The same millisecond value is a different BPM for a quarter note than for an eighth. Choose the note length you used on the delay.

Delay and pre-delay
Use the table for delay repeats. Pre-delay is the gap before reverb is heard; 1/32 or 1/16 at the current BPM is a common starting point. Copy a value, then listen. This is not a room measurement and does not compute RT60.
Reverb length as beats, not acoustics
One bar and half a bar at this tempo are convenient decay starting points. They do not describe a physical space. Set the plugin, then listen.
What this calculator does not do
It does not convert speaker distance or air temperature into delay. It does not change audio, export a stem, or set a plugin for you. For tempo of a file or a tap, use the BPM guide or tap tempo.
